Nike settles in Copyright infringement suit

Hackney an area just east of London, known as the London Borough of Hackney will receive $560,000 from Nike. This money is the settlement agreed upon between Nike and Hackney for Nike’s infringement of Hackney’s copyright.

The copyrighted logo is a round “H” followed by “The London Borough of Hackney”. Nike use this on soccer shirts, balls, sneakers, and track suits says Hackney’s attorney Gregor Grant. Also part of the settlement Nike has agreed never to use Hackney’s logo without permission.

Hackney Marsh in east London is like a large park that during the soccer season will have more then a hundred matches going on at the same time on a Sunday morning. Famous players in their younger years played there. David Beckham the former captain of England used to.
